"Daily contact with people is what I like most about being a dentist. I enjoy using my abilities to enhance their smiles, strengthen their self-confidence, and improve upon their overall health. I treat each patient as I would treat an old friend and I’m able to develop strong, long-lasting relationships with my patients."

Trained to transform smiles

"In dentistry, every day is a challenge. Each patient is a unique individual and requires individualized treatment. I’m very thankful for the solid foundation I received in dental school. My extensive training has given me the capability and self-confidence to meet my everyday challenges head-on, with the knowledge that at the end of the day I’ll have made a positive impact on my patients’ lives."

Advancing his education

"My state-of-the-art dental school education has given me the tools required to satisfy the needs of each person I see. In order to maintain the highest quality of care for my patients, one of my priorities is to keep expanding upon my current dental knowledge by participating in continuing education courses."

Learning from his colleagues

"Another way I increase my dental knowledge is by staying active in professional associations. By meeting with other dentists, I can learn about the advantages of the latest techniques and equipment. Besides providing new information about dentistry, professional organizations enhance my professional development. They give me the opportunity to learn about dental challenges other dentists have faced, how they overcame them, and what they learned from their experiences."

Assistants

I truly love being a dental assistant. It's very rewarding in the aspect that I get to help make someone's smile beautiful. It's also a chance to make a difference in someone's life. I tend to like having the patients that are terrified of the dentist - as I too was that person many years ago. I remember the assistant that held my hand to help calm my fears and the feelings of security that everything was going to be ok! I like getting to meet new people on a daily basis and to constantly be doing something different. Sharing my knowledge of dentistry and helping patients understand why and what treatment is needed is also an added bonus. My first "tooth" job was as an orthodontic assistant - which I did for about 4 years. I become bored with the repetitiveness and sought out being a dental assistant.

I can honestly say it's a love, it's a passion and it's my life. I am a lover of 80's music and music in general. I love spending time my with family and friends. I am happily married and have three wonderful kids. My name is Catrina "Trina".

I grew up in Hannibal and I am a wife, mother a 2 year old son and we will be adding to our family in January 2018. I am a Dental Assistant with Dr. Josh Ricker. My job is rewarding in so many ways. The variety of work we do, no two days are the same. Dentistry is continuously changing and it is gratifying to see our team learn more in order to give patients the best care and experience we possibly can. Our team takes pride in knowing we've helped transform even the most anxious, nervous and fearful patients intro trusting us and knowing we will be there for them. Getting to know our patients on a personal level like they are a part of our own family might be the greatest reward of all.
